Bridesmaid proposal

You read that right. I got engaged!

I am so excited to share the first part of my engagement process and a preview to one of the many DIY Tutorials that are to follow leading up to the wedding. Details on how I make all these items will be shared with a series of blog posts over the next year as there will be quite a few elements. I will also share details on the fonts and templates!

If you see below, I have shared ideas for a bridesmaid proposal kit based on things I liked as well as the colours I want to incorporate into my wedding. I used mint, navy, peach and white with hints of purple. If you're wondering what to put into a bridesmaid proposal box, see below for photos and inspiration. I have also listed out what I had in each box!

My boxes included:
  • Mint EOS lip balm
  • Essence peach glitter/pink nail polish
  • Hand-stamped cotton drawstring bag with my bridesmaid's initials on them to personalize. Each bag was filled with lavender for them to keep in a their drawers.
  • Cards with instructions and details about the bridal party, wedding day, the dress and their role.
  • A personalized library card note from me to each one of my girls.
  • Paint chips with the colour scheme and range the girls can choose for their dresses
  • Photos to inspire dress ideas, wedding feel and the look I am going for (Couldn't let myself out - Too much FOMO!)

Kate Spade Bridal Shower

The days are about to get longer and I can't wait! This the best time to 'Spring' forward and get a jump start on all of life's goals (okay, maybe like a few!). There are so many exciting things coming up and I thought it would be great to use my favourite time of year to start blogging, crafting and enjoying patios eating again.

Last month, one of my closest friends, (who also happens to be my cousin) had her bridal shower. She wanted something classy and elegant, yet still really fun & poppin'! So we decided to surprise her with a wonderful Kate Spade themed bridal shower.

We kept games short and sweet by doing a few 'minute-to-win it' style ones and kept the rest of the bridal shower games focused on the bride! For food, we had a yummy buffet-style menu with delicious dishes supplied by her wonderful mom and also incorporated a fun 'mimosa' bar (sans alcohol, of course). We had a really cute dessert table with fun cookies and a very beautiful & quite delicious.

We had all kinds of decor for a Kate Spade theme party. With of course all the gold polka dots, hints of pink, stripes and of course, spades. I have shared a few photos below from the event for inspiration.

We also incorporated a candy table (because who doesn't love candy), gave everyone a customized deck of cards and kept with the gold, pink and stripes wherever we could, without going too overboard.

Enjoy!

A Paper Store & Organized Weddings

I spent my Sunday in Kensington Market and had such a lovely day. Each time I am in the area I make sure I go down to Kid Icarus. Kid Icarus is a screen-printing shop in Toronto that has now turned into a full fledged gifts and stationary shop as well.

They also offer screen printing workshops in Toronto. I took a class while I was in my undergrad and the owner of kid Icarus had come to give us screen printing lessons for only $10 or something that was really cheap. I am so glad that I took the class and got to know this lovely establishment. It has gone from being a tiny little store on Nassau to a nice large apace on Augusta. As I walked around the charming little store (while I tried really hard to not touch things, and even harder to not buy too much) I came across a book titled 'handmade weddings.' And I fought all my might to not purchase it. I love handmade (obviously) and know that if I ever get married I will be taking the handmade route for sure. I can't wait to plan, organize, create and finally put together such an event. All that crafting will be so lovely!

If there is one thing you should know about me, it's that I absolutely love weddings. I love the celebration of love anytime and weddings are always such great events where everyone is happy, celebrating and loving. Also love putting events together and planning to the tiniest details.
