DIY Studded Clutch

This is one of my favourite things I have made so far. The best part is that it cost less than $10!

For this DIY you would need:
  • 1/3 yard of vinyl or pleather ($5)
  • Lining material (on hand)
  • Brass Paper fasteners ($3)
  • Awl
  • Basic Sewing Supplies
    • Sewing Machine
    • Chalk
    • Scissors
    • Ruler/Measuring tape
    • Pins

*I have steps here on how to create the front studded part of the purse. I will link out to a YouTube video for instructions on how to put everything together.

The first step is to take an existing clutch or book that is the size you want your new one to be and measure around it. Add one inch to each edge to create your border and cut lines. For example, if your desired size is 7x4, your cut fabric piece will be 8x5. You will have a total of four piece to cut.

Organization: How to Organize Jewelry

Hello Everyone!

Today I thought I would go through some basics in terms of organization seeing as I was in the perfect to mood to tidy up. I chose to show you how I  organize my Jewelry today and have a third that was recently done that I would love to share.

Now I have tons of jewelry and want to make sure I can see it all so I can wear all my jewelry and not forget about things I have. I prefer having things out and in the open so that I can be aware of what I have and make use of it all. I have a few things I use for organizing jewelry.

  • Trays
  • Ready made Necklace Holder
  • Ready made Bangle display
  • Thrift store finds

DIY Cap toe studded flats

Transform some plain flats into a pair of gorgeous gold cap toe studded flats!

Here is what you will need:

  • Plain flats (mine cost only $7)

  • Gold spray pain (on hand)

  • Gold pyramid studs ($3/20)

  • Masking tape

  • Scrap paper

  • Needle

  • Pliers

Start with a pair of plain flats, make sure they are cleaned on the surface.

Mask off the section that you want to be gold. The depth is your own choice. Make sure there are no gaps, and that the tape is as flat as possible. You do not want the gold to seep into the clean white space.

Once that is taped off take a scrap piece of paper and cover the rest of the shoe so that the spray paint does not sprinkle all over the shoes.  Once the spray paint is on, let the paint dry in front of a fan or just air dry. The paint will need to be completely dry before any tape is peeled off. Remove the paper and tape and make sure lines are straight.

Decide where you want to place the studs. Push the pins of the stud into the material so that there is an impression. Use a thick sewing needle in order to pierce through the shoe and then push the stud through. Use pliers to flatten the pins in the inside of the shoe. Repeat where ever you add studs.

I thought that the inside would irritate with the studs but I could not feel them at all. One tip I would recommend when purchasing ‘cheaper’ shoes is to get half a size larger and use gel cushions in the back so that the shoes will be comfortable enough to wear.

Now you can wear your one of a kind shoes with pride!
