Weekly (but really, monthly) Picks

Haven't done this in such a long time, but its really because school (as much as I love it) is taking up every waking minute of my life! Now that I came back from Chicago, (will post about this later) and am officially on March break, I will be posting more during this week. I will make some posts ready to go out for the next few weeks so I can share more with everyone! I will also (for now) be changing my Weekly Picks, to a monthly sort of thing so that I can update it more frequently.

The first thing I wanted to share is this lovely reclaimed walnut wood tabletop. If anyone is looking to buy a reclaimed wood tabletop, tables or any décor within Toronto or the GTA, I would most definitely hit up this place!

Now that summer is (hopefully, soon) coming, I am all about headbands and fun colors! I love these cute knot hair bands that I found on Etsy, take a look though the shop, there are some lovely things hidden there.

I love to scrapbook, I haven't shared anything here yet, but that is coming as soon as I have enough things ready to go! I love using Thickers, they are my favourite kind of letter stickers and remind me of the puffy sticker collection I had as a child. These are a great foam set by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts in a foam rubber mulberry style.
Chevrons are everywhere right now. I love this pillow available at Chapters/Indigo. The use of white with burlap makes me melt! I love the combination of burlap and anything so I had to add this pillow into my picks.

I've been finding myself in Chapters almost weekly because they have the most beautiful entertaining section. I always end up leaving with something, usually a home décor book or magazine because I am really into home styling at the moment. I walked past this beautiful tea cup and saucer set and wanted to purchase it immediately  If I had the space for it I don't think I would have hesitated one bit. Once I settle and  have my own place that is the exact colour of china I have chosen to collect.
Hope you've enjoyed these picks, I may do another next week if I get a chance, but if not then next month it is.
Hope spring comes fast.
Happy Crafting!
xo

(Six!!) DIY gift wrapping styles

Hey Everyone!
This is a post I have been wanting to do for a while. I just had to make sure I had enough material to put this together. Now that I have wrapped a total of six gifts so far, here are 6 ways to wrap anything!

1)It started with a gift I made then wrapped for a good friend of mine. I started with some plain kraft paper that I have in a large roll. Kraft paper is the best investment to make! I am in love with all the things that you can do with it, as you will all see in all the photos. Follow through for directions of what I did to make these look like they did.

  •  For the first gift I stamped using a large polka dot background I have and some black pigment ink. I did not aim for perfection because it was really not needed for a gift wrap. I wanted this to look like I had handmade it and not bought it preprinted.
  • While this was drying I punched out a strip of white paper using the Martha Stewart Double Edge punch in doily lace. This is one of my favourite double edge punches. It is so simple but you can do so much with it. I used some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo to get the edges distressed in a colour that matched the kraft paper.
  • I added some vintage book paper around the wrapping paper and the top bit of the doily lace punch at the bottom portion of the gift.
  • I distressed a tag with the same Tim Holtz Vintage Photo ink and ran some twine though the top, stamped a small camera in the corner and the recipient's name.
  • My last two touches were tying jute twine around the middle of the vintage book paper and adding a handmade flower (Which I will do a tutorial for soon!)

2)  next gift was for a secret santa present. This was very quick to do and looks really nice.

Picks of the Week

Ive been a little busy with orders I have been receiving for some products over the last week. I decided I would still put up some picks for this past week. Here is a collection of some new products. I would like to openly declare that I love wallpaper! This metallic stag wallpaper is so beautiful and would add a great warmth to a small space. I can just see it in a small wall above my workspace. Just looking t this had made me want to re-do my craft room with some new wallpaper! I have also shown these cute October Afternoon tin pins for scrapbooking or other crafting. I have a small collection of flat back pins which I usually put into my smash book which I will be sharing soon! I love this set of 5 post card prints from by April and May.  I have been using twine for everything lately and really believe that I should invest in a larger spool, this grey colour is really great because it isn't as stark as black and white and has just the colour to mix and match with everything. Lastly I found this amazing envelope clutch on Etsy with an amazing print on it by Roxy Marj.
